Methodology
An equal-weight basket of seven companies whose main business is quantum computing or post-quantum encryption, so the index tracks the field rather than its largest company.
Equal weight, rebalanced daily: the index's daily change is the average daily change of the members that traded that day. The candles (open, high, low) are synthetic, built from the same ratios against the prior close. Data comes from daily closing prices; the index updates once per trading day after the close.
The members were chosen in 2026 with hindsight, so the history carries selection bias (companies that delisted are not in it). This describes what happened — it is not a forecast and not investment advice.
FAQ
What is the TechAnalyzer Quantum Computing Index?
An equal-weight basket of companies whose main business is quantum computing or post-quantum encryption, calculated once a day on closing prices. There is no official exchange index like it — we define it and publish its rules.
How is the index calculated?
The index's daily change is the average of its members' daily changes (equal weight, rebalanced daily). It was set to 100 on the first day at least five members traded. A company that listed later joins through its daily change only.
Why aren't Google, Microsoft or Nvidia in the index?
They all have quantum programs, but their stocks move on cloud, advertising and AI chips. Including them would drown out what the index is meant to measure.
Is the index a recommendation?
No. It describes what the basket did — it is not a forecast or investment advice. The members were chosen today, so the history carries selection bias: companies that failed and delisted are not in it.
